Bollywood actor Bhumi Pednekar recently received a lot of backlash for slamming protestors for using foul language against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Amid the trolling, the actor has made a second video speaking against cyber bullies who are targeting a 15-year-old girl whose video went viral along with other female protestors. In the latest video, Bhumi Pednekar spoke about the young girl whose protest video went viral stating that she looked visibly “broken” in her recent clips. She spoke about how the 15-year-old girl had been receiving death and r*pre threats ever since the video and stated that one cannot put fear in a young mind just because they don’t agree with their opinion. She further added that women face a lot of harassment on a daily basis and said that she too, as a public figure, had gone through a similar experience. Bhumi spoke about how such things affect one’s mental health and that the motivation must always be the nation’s progress with unity.

This comes after Pednekar was heavily slammed on social media for calling out students for using “bad language” against the PM. She also stated that using such words was not “our culture” and even commented on the CJP’s Jantar Mantar protest. After the second video, many internet users stated that this was just “damage control” after she got heavily trolled for her “selective slamming.” They wrote that the actor made this video just in the fear of losing her audience as an artist. Her earlier remarks prompted outrage on social media where people pointed out that even though the actor had not supported the student-led CJP protest in Delhi, she decided to comment on them after anyways.
