Woman Recalls Emirates Flight Where “Entitled Indian Man” Threatened To Misbehave After Drinking
We're really sick of such men!
The recent Air India peeing incidents have left us all reeling with shock as we try to understand what must’ve been going on in the head of the man who peed on an elderly woman and the other man who peed on a woman’s blanket. It’s important to note that in both these cases the men were drunk and their behaviour oozes entitlement. As if 2 cases weren’t enough, another woman has now revealed the level of entitlement of Indian men on Twitter, which is not very surprising.
Taking to Twitter a woman named Upasana Sharma shared that she cannot explain how tired she is of entitled Indian men on flights. Recalling an incident, the woman revealed that she was on an Emirates flight from Dubai to Delhi and she had booked and paid for an aisle seat but the man next to her asked her to sit in the middle seat. When the woman refused, he told her in Hindi that she was a woman so she should sit inside but when she refused yet again, the man went on to add that in that case she shouldn’t blame him later once he’s drunk and if he’s in the middle seat. Interestingly, the man said all of this in Hindi which the crew could not understand.
He said “aap ladies ho, aap andar baith jao.” Translating to because you are a woman you should sit inside. When I continued to refuse, he said “once I am drunk, then don’t blame me if i am on the middle seat.” He said all of this in Hindi, and while the crew didn’t understand

Revealing that the co-passengers translated and explained the same to the crew, the woman shared that the staff initially asked her to continue sitting in the same place but when she refused, they moved her to another seat in front of the man. Expressing her anger, the woman said that, she was moved to another seat simply because she wanted to sit in a seat she paid for, while a man who told her to not hold him accountable for his actions once he’s drunk got away with it. TBH, it’s gold how such men think that it’s okay to threaten a woman into submission by telling her that they’ll misbehave after drinking.
To sit in my own seat that I had PAID for. That is the entitlement of Indian men. On @emirates end they told me they have filed a report and will be in touch, but i never heard from them. I also told them I want to file a formal report, and was told they will be in touch.

Sadly, the problem did not end there for the woman. Sharing her story further on Twitter, she revealed that while she was moved to another seat, the man who threatened her with misbehaviour after drinking was not only allowed to sit comfortably but was also served alcohol on the very same flight. First of all, it’s just not okay for men to threaten a woman with misbehaviour. It’s like these men are so entitled that they have no fear of the law. And what’s worse is that instead of choosing to not drink knowing that they will misbehave, they use it to threaten women and get their way.
Finally, I was given another seat, and the man who had THREATENED me that he will misbehave after drinking, was also served drinks on the SAME flight.

What’s worse is that at the end of the flight, the airline staff told her that they have filed a report about the incident and will be in touch. Further, the woman also told them that she wishes to file a formal complaint and was told that they will reach out to her but it has been 3 weeks and she hasn’t heard from them. She also shared that she is set to fly on an Emirates flight again this week and is feeling “anxious” and “terrified”.

TBH, we’re all sick of men and their entitlement. It’s shocking how men feel entitled to misbehave with women and have little to no fear. And what’s worse is that such men are served alcohol on flights despite their behaviour.
