Who Is Godman Jalebi Baba, Charged For Drugging, Raping Over 100 Women?
Is 14 years enough for this crime?
In recent years, we have seen the arrest of many such men who in the garb of being self-proclaimed godmen have sexually assaulted uncountable women. One such shameless man, known as Jalebi Baba was recently sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment for raping 100 women. A fast-track court was set up in Haryana to punish the self-styled godman for abusing these women, and he has been identified as Amarpuri.

The self-styled godman who is known as Jalebi Baba has been imprisoned for 14 years on the charges of drugging and raping over 100 women. He also used to film the objectionable act. The accused threatened and blackmailed the women with these videos. He also extorted money from these women and blackmailed them into giving it. On January 5, he was sentenced to 14 years of imprisonment by the fast-tracked court in Fatehabad. The accused, who is 60 years old had raped a minor twice and therefore was charged with Section 6 under the POCSO act ( Protection Of Children From Sexual Offences). Since the crime was committed twice, he was slammed with 14 years, 7 for each. The judgement was passed by district judge Balwant Singh.

Amarpuri is actually a father to 6 children, four girls and two boys. As per the news, he had moved from Mansa, Punjab in 1984. He had established himself as a tantrik and many women fell into his trap. They approached him with their problems, and in return, he drugged and assaulted them. Some 120 videos were recovered from Amarpuri’s phone by Bimla Devi, the women’s police cell in charge in Fatehabad. The first incident of the accused was reported in 2018 in Tohana, the place where he settled after moving from Mansa.
