TMC’s Mahua Moitra Hits Out At BJP For Not Taking Action Against WFI Chief In Sexual Harassment Case
She took a dig at BJP.
For the past few days, top wrestlers of our country have been protesting against the Wrestling Federation of India and its president Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh at Delhi’s Jantar Mantar in New Delhi. For the uninitiated, wrestler Vinesh Phogat accused the WFI Chief and male coaches of the national camp of sexually harassing several female wrestlers for many years. Recently, TMC MP Mahua Moitra came forward to support the protesting wrestlers and called out the BJP government for not taking any action against their MP in the sexual harassment case.

On December 20, MP Mahua Moitra called out the Bharatiya Janata Party for not taking any action against their MP and WFI Chief – Brij Bhushan Sharan Singh who is accused of sexually harassing and torturing female wrestlers for many years now. She said that what happened with the female athletes is extremely unfortunate and mentioned that Indian wrestlers are protesting at Jantar Mantar as allegations have surfaced against the sitting president of the Wrestling Federation of India who is also a six-time BJP MP.

Furthermore, WFI Chief is choosing not to resign despite the sexual harassment allegations. Mahua Moitra mentioned how the BJP government is unable to make its party members listen to its commandments. The Lok Sabha MP said that Prime Miniter Narendra Modi and the sports minister need to find a solution to this matter as soon as possible.
On the other hand, wrestler Vinesh Phogat recently revealed that not only female athletes but female coaches were exploited.
