Shark Tank India has become an obsession for viewers, irrespective of whether they want to become an entrepreneur or not. The show has so much to educate the audience about how a business works, that it has managed to steal the audience’s attention. Recently, there was a heated argument on the show between sharks Namita Thapar and Anupam Mittal. However, even this clash had a lesson for the viewers and we got to know a little more about debts in businesses.

Shark Tank India season 2 is almost coming to an end. And arguments, debates among the sharks are quite a common occurrence on the show. Fighting for a contestant keeps happening and a similar situation happened in one of the final episodes of the show. The pitcher had a successful jewellery business and was seeking an investment of 1 crore for 0.5 per cent equity. The sharks were first impressed by the pitcher’s inspiring story of building such a flourishing business from scratch even after facing innumerable hardships in life. In fact, Namita Thapar had the perfect line for the pitcher when she said that their learnings had come from the best but she learned it from her circumstances. For the pitcher, Namita Thapar and Vineeta Singh gave a joint offer of 1 crore in equity and 50 Lakhs in debt. They also called it a “Dream Team”

Now a similar offer was given by Anupam Mittal but he did not ask for a debt. And in fact, also reacted to the duo’s offer saying that the pitcher should definitely not accept any kind of debt. Reacting to this Namita Thapar put forth her views saying that debts are better than equity. The duo also got the support of Aman Gupta and were finally selected by the pitchers too as their investors.
