Narrating her personal struggles, Thapar mentioned that she gave birth to her first child at the age of 28, however after a few years, while conceiving her second child, she faced a lot of troubles. Followed by this, she sought help from IVF and went through an elaborate procedure, wherein she was given 25 injections. She also expressed how the 2 failed IVF procedures took a toll on her physical and emotional health. She later made peace with it, since she already had a child, but would always wonder about parents who find their last hope in such treatments.
Talking about her journey, Thapar admitted to keeping the struggles to herself, due to the taboo attached to it, where in people suggest you to “keep your legs up or cross them.” Soon after 10 years, she courageously spoke about this experience in her book and now during a Shark Tank episode. Although the IVF treatments did not help, Namita was able to conceive naturally.
