Model Raped By Harvey Weinstein Files Lawsuit For Punitive Damages

Hollywood producer Harvey Weinstein might likely spend the rest of his life in jail, and as rightly as he should. Given the horrible sexual crimes he has committed against dozens of women for over a decade, he deserves the highest order of punishment. The former producer is currently serving a 23-year jail sentence after getting convicted in 2020 of sexual crimes. And now, one of his rape victims, a model, has come forward to file a lawsuit against him for the damage that he has done to her. This is the same woman who led to Weinstein’s rape conviction last year.

As per reports, the model, whose identity has not been revealed for obvious reasons, accused Harvey Weinstein of barging into her hotel room in 2013, and raping and sexually assaulting her. She has filed the lawsuit in the LA Superior Court. She has accused the 70-year-old producer of sexual battery, and causing her emotional distress. The hearing of this lawsuit is scheduled to take place later this month, and there is a possibility he might get an 18-year prison term in this case.

Reportedly, the lawsuit says that Weinstein’s conduct was malicious and oppressive, which makes him liable for punitive damages. The model also seeks compensation for the mental and physical suffering she had to undergo because of Harvey. The court agreed for the Pulp Fiction producer to pay $17 million to more than 50 women who came forward to accuse him of sexual crimes in 2021.

The sexual allegations against Harvey Weinstein snowballed into the massive #MeToo movement after several women came forward to accuse him of rape, molestation, and even sexual harassment. Even prominent actresses in Hollywood the likes of Angelina Jolie, Lena Headey, Gwyneth Paltrow, Lupita Nyong’o, Uma Thurman, and several others have accused him of sexual misbehaviour toward them.
