It is very important for political parties to consider the various needs and demands of women in the country. A recent event to address the women in Karnataka was attended by the General Secretary of the Indian National Congress, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra. The event took place in Bengaluru, Karnataka and was majorly attended by women. It was called the Na Nayaki event where Priyanka Gandhi Vadra spoke on issues faced by women and how her government plans to tackle them. Some important takeaways from her speech.

Grihya Laxmi Yojna

At the Na Nayaki event, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra mentioned about the Grihya Laxmi scheme. Under this, the party promises to give each woman who is the sole breadwinner of the family a sum of ₹2000 every month. The politician also said that this money will be directly transferred to the women’s account. This scheme was solely meant to encourage women who are striving and working hard for their respective families and ultimately bringing a change in society. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also praised such women of Karnataka. 

Separate Manifesto For Women

 Priyanka Gandhi Vadra also announced that her party will come with a separate manifesto for women. With a different manifesto, the party will entirely focus to deal with the problems and issues faced by women, and accordingly, come out with a plan. She also mentioned that the first women’s manifesto was made in Uttar Pradesh, and it was also ridiculed by the opposition party.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra in her speech at the event also praised the women of Karnataka for adding value to the state’s work sector. She also talked about the two strong women who raised her- Indira Gandhi and Sonia Gandhi. The Congress leader urged women to consider points like safety, employment and education when choosing the representatives of the state.

Well, we hope that our Indian political parties actually stand by the promises that they make during the speeches.
