PM Modi’s Mother Heeraben Passes Away, Laid To Rest In Gandhinagar

On December 29, Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi was admitted to the UN Mehta Hospital in Ahmedabad. As per the official statement, the Prime Minister’s mother was admitted to the Institute of Cardiology and Research Centre and her health condition was said to be stable. Soon after, PM Modi landed in Ahmedabad to visit his mother. Around 6 am on December 30, PM Modi shared an update that his mother had passed away at the age of 100.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mother Heeraben Modi was admitted to the hospital due to high blood pressure but no other details about her condition were revealed. While the cause of Heerben Modi’s death remains unknown, PM Modi again rushed to Ahmedabad earlier this morning following the death of his mother. Hours later, her mortal remains were taken from Ahmedabad to Gandhinagar where she was laid to rest at the Muktidham crematorium in Sector 30. PM Modi was spotted carrying his late mother’s moral remains as well.

In a tweet, PM Modi expressed his sorrow and shared that his mother now lays at God’s feet after living for 100 glorious years. Calling Heeraben Modi a symbol of a selfless karma yogi, the Prime Minister recalled his visit to her on her 100th birthday earlier this year. He shared that during his visit, she told him to always remember to work with intelligence and live a life with purity.

Considering Heeraben Modi’s death, questions have been raised if the Prime Minister will be working today or not but as per the latest tweet shared by the Prime Minister’s office, he will be joining the scheduled programmes in West Bengal virtually.

Further, PM Modi’s family has reportedly urged people to continue working in order to pay a befitting tribute to her. Apart from this, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, President Droupadi Murmu, Congress leader Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, NCP leader Ajit Pawar and Democratic Azad Party chief Ghulam Nabi Azad and several others condoled Heeraben Modi’s death.
