Priyanka Gandhi Said Criminal Who Set A Class 12 Girl Ablaze In Dumka, Jharkhand “Should Be Given Punishment At The Earliest.”

I feel like the more I live in this country as a woman, the more scared I get for my own well-being. Each day, the news of crimes against women keeps piling on and these are the ones that are reported, the ones that go unreported freak me out even further. And clearly, by the recent release of the Bilkis Bano rapists, it is more evident than ever that India does not take safety for women seriously. At a time like this, Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi have spoken about the class 12 Jharkhand girl who was set on fire because she kept rejecting his advances. This case is scary, to say the least.

Priyanka Gandhi Vadra and Rahul Gandhi, leaders of the Congress, demanded justice on Tuesday for a Class 12 student who died after being set ablaze by a man for refusing his advances. They also urged that the perpetrator of the crime be brought to justice as soon as possible. On August 23, the tragedy happened in the Dumka district of Jharkhand. According to the police, the suspect, named Shahrukh, allegedly doused the adolescent in gasoline while she slept and then lit her on fire.

Early on Sunday morning, the woman who was receiving treatment at Ranchi’s Rajendra Institute of Medical Science (RIMS) passed away. According to the former Congress leader, the girl and her family will only receive justice when the person responsible for this brutality receives the greatest punishment as soon as possible. He also advocated for making the nation a safe place for women. Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, the general secretary of the Congress, said that the brutal murder of a 12-year-old girl is tragic and that the criminal should be punished as soon as possible.
