The incident was reported from Maharashtra’s Kolhapur, and it happened on October 9. According to the reports, the man filed a missing person report the next day to hide the crime. What Happened?
The man has been identified as Shripad. He was reportedly in a relationship with the woman for over 5 years. According to an NDTV report, the two were near a waterfall in the Bhudargad area of Kolhapur when the crime took place. The woman was reportedly informed by the accused about her arranged marriage set by the family. This led to a heated exchange between the two, and the man reportedly pushed the victim off the cliff.
According to the reports, the man went to the Bhudargad police station the next day and reported it as a missing persons case. In front of the police officers, he claimed that the woman allegedly slipped and fell from the cliff while they were clicking a selfie together. However, during the investigation, the police found discrepancies in the series of events narrated by the accused, which led them to doubt his account. According to the report, Shripad later confessed to the crime and accepted that he threw the victim into the gorge. The body was sent for post-mortem, and later handed over to the family. The family has demanded a thorough investigation into the matter and strict action against the culprit.
