Another bone-chilling case made headlines from Chhattisgarh, where a husband allegedly killed his pregnant wife. The details of the case have emerged, and it just makes us wonder, does humanity even exist anymore? The woman who was brutally killed was only 23 years old. Read on.
What Is The Chhattisgarh Case?
The incident reportedly took place on Thursday, May 14. A 23-year-old pregnant woman was allegedly killed by her husband. As per the PTI report, the police and medical reports revealed horrifying details of the crime. Something that is beyond our imagination. The incident was reported from Bhitthikala village in the Surguja District. According to the police, the couple married five years ago and has a 4-year-old daughter. Going by the reports, the man used to drink and beat his wife regularly. One night, the fight escalated, and he allegedly murdered his wife in front of their daughter. Medical reports claim that he was under the influence of alcohol when he inserted a hacksaw blade into her private part
The reports also suggest that the man immediately took his wife to a nearby hospital and claimed that she was hurt due to an accident. But unfortunately, the 23-year-old woman did not survive the brutal crime and was declared dead at the hospital. The accused ran away from the hospital after learning that his wife had died. Later, the police booked him on charges of assault.

As per the news reports, the autopsy reports revealed shocking details of the crime. The doctors also discovered that the young woman was 3 months pregnant. They also discovered 17 injuries on the victim’s body, and an iron rod was taken out from her private part.
Arrest
The accused was arrested by the police on Sunday, May, 17. He has reportedly confessed to the crime.
This just makes us sick. There are countless cases of domestic violence, but they only make headlines when it takes such extreme turns. How sick does a man have to be to kill his pregnant wife with so much cruelty? And will such cases change anything for the women? Will there be any safety and assurance to prevent such crimes against women in future? We really don’t think so. This is just another case in a pile of plenty of cases. On some days, it’s a girl child being raped, on other days, it’s a daughter-in-law being killed over dowry. We are angry, hopeless, and tired of screaming for justice.
