Kerala BJP President Faces Serious Allegations For Body Shaming Remarks On CPM Women Leaders
The minister has dismissed the allegations.
I don’t understand how ministers do not think twice before making controversial or unnecessary comments in a public arena. We are certainly living in times when offensive remarks especially against women will no longer be tolerated, and another BJP minister is now facing some serious criticism for the same. In fact, a case has been registered against Kerala’s BJP President, K Surendran for some sexist comments he passed on women from the leftist party during a recent public event.

Kerala BJP Minister, K Surendran was present for a Mahila Morcha Event in Thrissur on March 26, Sunday. During this event, the BJP minister allegedly made comments about the women of the CPI (M) party that was sexist. The leader has alleged that his statements were also meant to body shame the women. A case on this matter has been registered against the minister by a CPI (M) MP C S Sujatha. The police have informed that an FIR against the minister has been registered under the IPC sections 354 A and 509 for sexual harassment and using words to insult the modesty of women, respectively. The police are working on the case to investigate the allegations against the minister, as per the news.

As per reports, many members of the leftist party bashed the comments by K Surendran and have even demanded an apology for the same. On the other hand, K Surendran in his defence said that the comments were not to point out any specific woman, rather it was just a statement on corrupt ministers. He also said that his statements were being exaggerated for political interests, and further dismissed such claims by the CPM leader, as per the news.
