Japanese Girl Groped By Men On Holi, NCW Seeks FIR Against Culprits. We Need Strong Action Here!

No festival, no festival gives any man the right to cross their boundaries with a woman. Especially, not in the garb of having fun or just for the fact that it is how a festival should look like! It is nothing but harassment and Holi is one such festival when many such instances happen. Recently, a video from Delhi surfaced on social media in which some men can be groping a Japanese girl to apply the Holi colours. The video will make you angry and it’s just shameful to see these young men using a festival as an excuse to publicly harass a woman.
In the video shared by a social media user, some hooligans can be seen groping a Japanese woman and putting colours on her clearly against the girl’s will. Some boys also broke eggs on her head. She retaliated strongly in the end by slapping one of the guys who was also trying to grope her. The video is distressing and for a woman, it’s really difficult to even watch. The group of boys were overpowering her while she tried hard to resist them. The boys can be heard shouting ‘Happy Holi’ while the girl shouts “No No” and tries to go away from there. If this is not a clear case of harassment, what is? The way the boys are taking the liberty to play holi with girls will leave you disgusted and angry.

As per the latest news on this case, the National Commission for Women took note of the incident and also put forth an official statement on the matter. As per NCW’s statement, the matter has been reported to the DGP of UP and they have sought an FIR on the alleged culprits too.
@NCWIndia has taken cognizance. Chairperson @sharmarekha has written to @dgpup to take strict action against the culprits in accordance with law. NCW has also sought FIR under relevant provisions of law & to apprise the Commission with a detailed action taken report in he matter.

We just hope that strict action will be taken against the men in the video. This is absolutely unacceptable and clearly a disgusting way to celebrate a festival. The authorities should set an example here by punishing the culprits as per the law which will give a stern message to the men.
