US Woman Diagnosed With Thyroid Cancer Says She Brushed Of The Signs As Stress. Don’t Ignore Your Health Like You Ignore Your Ex!
Health comes first!More often than not, we choose hustle over health. We are so engrossed and busy in various aspects of our lives that we forget that health is also equally important. I mean, most of us treat our health like that one aashiq who we blatantly ignore in our DMs (and sometimes IRL). Evidence in question is this woman from the United States who battled thyroid cancer and revealed how she ignored weeks of symptoms before her diagnosis. And if she would have just paid attention to these four symptoms then maybe things would have been a bit different for her.
In 2014, a 27-year-old woman named Christina McKnight was diagnosed with thyroid cancer despite the fact that she had no family history of the disease. It was even more surprising because she was “young, fit, and healthy”. But now, when she looks back, she can see how she ignored 4 symptoms that could have led to an early diagnosis.

Recently, in a Facebook reel, Christina McKnight revealed that she thought very little and almost neglected the signs for weeks and was only diagnosed with thyroid cancer after her husband, Mathew McKnight forced her to check in with a doctor.
In the reel, Christina McKnight said that she thought her thyroid cancer symptoms – fatigue, brain fog, dry skin, and brittle hair – were a result of stress that occurred after she landed a promotion at her work. One of the reasons why she did not take her symptoms seriously was also because she was perfectly fit and did not have a hereditary thyroid disease.

Christina McKnight said that her husband was the one to notice how serious her symptoms were and observed that it was getting worse day by day. She said, “Thankfully my doctor recognised my symptoms as he had recently diagnosed others with thyroid cancer. He felt my neck and found a lump which I wasn’t even aware of and got the ball rolling with diagnosis.”
After the doctor’s concern was proven by a biopsy, Christina McKnight got a thyroidectomy in November 2014. Following this, to treat her thyroid cancer, she had radioactive iodine ablation treatment in January to remove any remains of her thyroid glands. It was a year later she got an all-clear from the doctor.
The moral of this incident is that people out there please don’t ignore your health. And if you feel even a little bit off then, please go see and consult a doctor.
