Woman Jailed For Pretending To Be An FBI Officer To Get A Free Meal From A Restaurant. What Even?

If I were to ever personate a cop in my life, I would imagine it would be for something worthwhile (like the time Phoebe pretended to be a cop to police people into doing good deeds) or at least a grand scheme with a big payout where all that extra risk of going to jail would be well compensated. But what I never imagined doing it for a free plate of fries. A stunt that a woman in Georgia pulled off, where she pretended to be an FBI officer in search of a free fast food meal.

Possibly under the impression that cops are entitled to free meal from joints, this 47-year-old woman named Kimberly Ragsdale hailing from Dallas, was charged on Thursday with the crime of impersonating a public officer following repeated attempts to get free meals at a Chick-Fil-A, according to a Rockmart Police arrest report obtained by news outlets.

And mind you, not just any public officer but an FBI agent, all so she could get her hands on a free meal. Although, we are yet to find out if this was an act of desperation or the thrill of simply being able to pull off something so slick and risky, what we do know for sure is that probably no meal is delicious enough to be put behind bars for. Or was it?

Employees of the restaurant spoke to investigators and revealed that Ragsdale had showed up at the location multiple times during the week and pretended to be a federal agent while driving a white minivan. They shared how she also threatened to take employees into custody if they didn’t comply with her unusual and free-loader demands.

It was also reported that even after the police arrived at the restaurant, Kimberly refused to break out of character and kept the façade of pretending to be an FBI agent on. Officers also into the report that during the time when she was being handcuffed, she started to, “talk into her shirt like she was talking into a radio telling someone that we were arresting her and to send someone to Rockmart PD.”

Meanwhile,  Chief Randy Turner (a real officer) spoke on the matter and said, “You will not hear a real officer demand a meal anywhere. If it is given, we appreciate it. If it is discounted, we appreciate it. We will not ask for it or make threats and demand it.” A grave error in judgement made by Kimberly that costed her, her freedom and $3,000 in a bond on which she was released from jail on Saturday.
