Woman Arrested In Udaipur For Plotting An Acid Attack On A Man After He Refused Her Marriage Proposal

As might be the case with a woman in Udaipur who was recently arrested by the police for charges of plotting an acid attack on a person along with two other people, for turning down a marriage proposal that was made by her. Who would’ve guessed that men aren’t the only ones struggling with how to deal with rejection?
Reports by the police suggest that the woman, Naija Hussain, offered her boss a sum of 40,000 Rs to throw acid at her colleague, who supposedly rejected her marriage proposal. The boss, who accepted the offer then chose his younger brother fit to carry out the crime.

The target is revealed to have been Abhishek Singh. Living in the sector 3 of the city of Udaipur, Abhishek is an engineer and a fellow colleague of Naija with whom he worked at a factory in Dabok. As it so happened, the victim was in fact attacked by Naija’s boss, except they could’nt succeed at throwing the acid on his face.
On May 7, Abhishek reached out to the police to file a complaint against an unidentified man who supposedly threw acid on his back and fled. The victim claims to have been waiting for his boss, Roshan Singh Rathore to pick him up from Sevashram Bridge when the incident took place.
The SHO of Hiran Magri, Ram Sumer shared that the two were close friends and it was when Abhishek’s marriage was fixed elsewhere, that he called off his relationship with Naija. Refusing to marry her when she proposed, the rejection drove Naija to the point of revenge.
“This infuriated the woman who wanted to teach Abhishek a lesson. She befriended Roshan and became close to him, so that she could take revenge. Abhishek used to go to work by bus, but since the lockdown, Roshan used to pick him at Sevashram bridge and they went together. Taking advantage of the situation, she convinced Roshan to get acid thrown on Abhishek’s body so that he could be hurt but not killed,” said SHO Ram Sumer.
Roshan then provided acid from his factory to his younger brother, whom he had already taken into confidence, to commit the crime. When the victim escaped and reached home, he told Roshan the entire incident as he offered him fake sympathies. However, as police joined the dots by looking at the CCTV footage, Roshan instantly spoke the truth during interrogation.
The the three were then nabbed by the police and booked under relevant sections. It is horrifying to see that women too, aren’t afraid to go to frightening lengths simply because they feel entitled to not being rejected.
