Who Is Shari Baloch, The Female Suicide Bomber, That Blew Herself Up At Karachi University?
If you’ve read the news recently, you’d know about the explosion that took place at Karachi University in Pakistan. For those unversed, on Tuesday, April 26, a female suicide bomber by the name of Shari Baloch blew herself up near Confucius Institute – a Chinese language teaching center at Karachi University. The bomb explosion killed four people out of which three were Chinese nationals and many others were injured.
Separatist Baloch Liberation Army claimed responsibility for the #KarachiBlast that killed 3 Chinese and 1 Pakistani citizen.

So, who is the female suicide bomber?
The female suicide bomber is a woman by the name of Shari Baloch. She was married to Habitan Bashir Baloch, a dentist, and was a mother of two kids (8 and 5 years old). She also had a Master’s degree in Zoology and MPhil in education. Unlike her father who was a government servant, Shari was a teacher at a school.

The 30-year-old woman was the first Baloch woman to carry out a suicide attack in Karachi, Pakistan. After the incident, the female suicide bomber’s husband tweeted from an unknown location expressing how proud he is of what she has done.

How did Shari Baloch become a suicide bomber?
It seems as though the female suicide bomber joined the BLA in the year 2020 and volunteered herself for a “self-sacrificing mission”. She previously had no connection with any extremist or terrorist groups. In the footage shared by an Afghan journalist, Bashir Ahmad Gwakh, a woman wearing a burqa can be seen blowing herself up as the van passes through the road.

Meanwhile, due to the bomb explosion inside the premises of Karachi University, they had decided to remain suspended until Wednesday.
