Liz Truss’ appointment as the Prime Minister has been quite the talked-about event globally. But her cabinet and the ministers who are a part of it have recently hit headlines as well. What is so special about PM Liz Truss’ cabinet is that, for the first time in the history of Britain’s politics, no white man has assumed the top posts. The cabinet of ministers is touted as the most diverse one so far women assuming the PM and deputy PM’s posts, while Black and South Asian ministers assume other important titles.

Indian-origin Suella Braverman, who was the candidate chosen to succeed Boris Johnson but she eliminated in the second round of voting, has been chosen to be the new UK Home Secretary. She is of Indian origin as her mother is Tamilian and her father is a Goan.
