Two Women Were Slapped, Kicked And Beaten By Sticks Brutally. Nobody Saved Them.
We live in a society where schooling by violence is not seen as a problem. How many of us have been beaten by our parents when we were kids? How many of us witnessed teachers who thought it was okay to hit the students? Thankfully, my parents never hit me and honestly, I turned out just fine. They didn’t have to hit me to teach me right from wrong, or make me a law-abiding citizen who doesn’t believe in inflicting pain on others. And yet, our culture encourages beatings. They call it tough love; families believe they have the right to brutally beat up their children in order to teach them a lesson. They say it’s for their own good. They say they have the right!
Recently, two women were brutally beaten up by a group of around seven people in Madhya Pradesh. Those people were their own family members who decided they should violently punish them for speaking to their own maternal cousins. Of course, the women will never dare to do it again. And hence their mission remains accomplished and their belief in violent lessons strengthened.
Videos recorded by onlookers emerged and one can see the women being beaten by sticks until those broke, being slapped, pulled by their hair and kicked mercilessly. The women who were cousins were bashed in front of a huge crowd and nobody bothered to stop them from being abused.

You can watch one woman screaming in pain as she is stopped from escaping. In another video, one can see the woman’s mother too joining in the abuse. She was seen slapping her hard and hitting her with a chappal. Another video showed the woman back in their village, sitting there feeling numbed by the abuse, as a crowd gathered around them.

People had the heart to witness this live in action, and not intervene. Their own family had the heart to cause them so much pain and not feel a thing. One woman’s own mother had the heart to mercilessly beat her up. They say family is everything but what if your family is abusing you?
