Two Orphan Sisters Were Reunited With Their Third Sister After They Chanced Upon A Photo Of Hers

A large part of my day goes into scouring through Google and various news portals looking for interesting and relevant stories to write about. Sometimes, these stories are disturbing and morbid. Rape cases, murders, even incidents of human sacrifice (occupational hazards!). Other times though, I get to write about fun yet extremely bizarre incidents that could easily be turned into a Bollywood movie. For instance, this particular article is about two orphan sisters who were reunited with their third sister after they saw a picture of her at a science fair. Tell me you wouldn’t pay to watch this movie on the big screen.

In a surprising twist of fate, two sisters living in an orphanage in Hyderabad were reunited with their third sister after they identified her at a science fair. The two girls saw a picture of this science fair and recognized their long lost sister. They informed the orphanage authorities and were reunited with her. I love stories with happy endings.

According to reports, these three sisters were living with their father until three years ago. After he died, the two older sisters were sent to live in an orphanage while the youngest sister lived with their grandmother. However, after the grandmother passed away, the third sister was left alone. She was rescued by the authorities and sent to a different orphanage. The two older sisters had no knowledge of her whereabouts until they chanced upon this photo of hers from the science fair and recognized her. A DNA test of conducted that proved conclusively that the girl was indeed their sister and the three of them were reunited this Sunday.

Hyderabad District Welfare Officer Akeshwar Rao told Indian Express, “At our state orphanages, officials and counsellors encourage children’s participation by conducting several events. One of them was a science fair held early this year. Some photos of the fair were circulated among the orphanages and two girls, aged 12 and 14, told their caretakers that a girl in some of them resembled their lost sister.”

It’s such a wholesome story.
