Two Grooms Arrived At A Bride’s House To Marry Her, She Married One And Went Home With The Other

When you grow up watching Bollywood movies, you have a different perspective on weddings altogether. They seem like bundles of drama. In reality, though, most of them are quite vanilla. Other than the food, of course. Sometimes, if you get lucky though, you’re invited to a wedding that is packed with theatrics. Like this one in UP where the bride married one man while already being married to someone else. The whole incident is just so bizarre.

In Uttar Pradesh’s Etah district, a woman garlanded one man while already being married to someone else. However, the bride went home with her second husband. Obviously furious about the incident, the first husband and his family filed an FIR with the police who are now looking into the matter.

The police have taken the bride’s father and uncle into custody. They are also looking into the second husband and his family members. It seems like both the grooms reached the bride’s house with their wedding procession on the same day. Reportedly, the bride wed the groom who reached earlier but also garlanded the groom who reached later. Then, the bride had her bidaai and went home with the second groom. This happened in Siron village. Even though there are no reports of both grooms and their families physically assaulting each other, it obviously wasn’t something either of them would take sitting down.

This is why I enjoy writing about Indian weddings so much. They’re so insanely bizarre and no one can predict what can happen. In this scenario, a lot of the villagers are also debating about the bride’s age. They’re saying the bride is younger than the legal age to marry and that her parents have been cheating men on the pretext of marriage.

Hopefully, the local authorities can get to the bottom of the matter.
