Twitter Users Accuse Clothing Brand Of Promoting ‘Love Jihad’ After Mistaking Maharashtrian Topi For Islamic Cap
As an introvert, I think hundred times before saying anything because I don’t want to say something stupid. However, there are so many people in this world who like to give their unsolicited opinion on everything without checking their facts. Recently, a promotional advertisement was falsely used to accuse a clothing brand of promoting ‘love jihad’. What is this unnecessary drama?
Recently, some Twitter users noticed a promotional picture of a clothing brand called ‘Karagiri’ that features actors Mohit Malik and Aditi Malik. In the picture, Aditi Malik can be seen flaunting her baby bump in a blue Kanjivaram saree and her husband, actor Mohit Malik can be seen wearing a kurta–pyjama with a ‘Maharashtrian topi’. However, the users thought it was an ‘Islamic cap’ and started accusing the clothing brand of promoting ‘love jihad’ as it was showing an inter-religious couple.

The couple had shared many pictures and videos on their social media accounts from the godh bharai ceremony where Mohit can be seen wearing the Maharashtrian topi. So, it’s clear that the picture is not depicting ‘love jihad’ but a Hindu tradition.

You know, I have realised that people just want drama in their life even if it’s fake. Sharing your opinion on social media without checking proper facts can be harmful and can cause unnecessary hate. And why are we even trying to associate an item of clothing or colour with a particular religion?
