Turkish Woman Marries A Man From Andhra Pradesh’s Guntur In A Traditional Telugu Ceremony. It’s Love Across Borders!

I love love stories. Especially the ones that break barriers of language, religion, culture, and region. I mean, these are the stories that show how powerful love can be when you’re with the right person. In fact, I came across one such love story that made me all warm and mushy inside. It is about a woman from Turkey and a man from Andhra Pradesh, India. Wondering how these two came together and got married?

Well, the man Madhu Sankeerth who is from Guntur, Andhra Pradesh, met his now-wife Gijem who is from Turkey, on a work project in 2016 and gradually turned into friends. And when Madhu moved to Turkey for work, the two of them realised that what they shared was more than friendship. That is when they decided to get married.

As soon as both of them realised that they wanted to take their relationship to another level, they spoke to their respective families. Initially, both the families were against the idea but later Gijem and Madhu got approval from their families to get married and so they got engaged in 2019.

As per India Today, the couple was supposed to get married back in 2020 but because of the Covid-19 restrictions, they put that plan on hold. It was in July 2021, when they got married in Turkey first and now on Tuesday, they got married once again in a traditional Telugu Hindu ceremony.

Their love story is so beautiful. Why? Well, because their marriage erased all the barriers that came their way and the love between them flourished even more after that.
