Shruti Haasan Says She Is Privileged To Be Able To Use Her Fame For The Greater Good
You know, at the end of the day, we all have one ultimate goal. To leave our mark on the world and to make some kind of difference. It’s easier said than done though. I believe that the only people who truly hold the power to create change and to sway people’s minds are celebrities and influencers. Unfortunately, not all famous people use their fame to help our world. Some prefer maintaining a stoic and diplomatic silence about the things that truly matter. However, today we are talking about Shruti Haasan who is not only doing her bit but also believes that she is privileged because she can make a difference in this world. Only if more celebrities and influencers had a similar mindset, we’d be in a better place.
Actor Shruti Haasan is all set to perform her duties as the brand ambassador of the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF), India. She is using her voice and her fame to start dialogues and conversations about wildlife conservation and preservation. Shruti, reportedly, said that she feels “privileged” to be able to use her fame for the greater good.

Shruti said, “The word youth icon carries a lot of weight and many connotations. And I’ve never really liked the word famous because it’s just one step away from being infamous. It can mean so many things. I do believe that if you’re given a position, to be able to have people listen to you, it’s a great gift. If I can associate with causes, organisations or ideas, and have people think about more than just the menial things, it makes me feel very privileged.”
She went on to say, “I don’t wake up in the morning planning to be an icon or famous. But I do wake up thinking what can I learn new today? What can I say that will shed light on something that somebody didn’t know about? And take each day at a time.”
We love that Shruti is using her fame to raise awareness about wildlife conservation. Yes, being a star kid does give you a certain privilege but what you do with that is completely up to you. I hope more celebrities would use their power and influence to raise awareness about topics that need to be talked about.
