Rajasthan State Commission For Women To Take Legal Action Against Women On Filing False Harassment Cases. We Stan This Decision!

More often than not, we hear men cribbing and complaining about how there are many women out there who falsely accuse men to fulfill their own selfish motives. They also go on to say that there is no real punishment of sorts for women who do this. Well, it seems as though the Rajasthan State Commission for Women has finally paid heed to these complaints and announced a big decision wherein an FIR will be filed against women who have falsely filed cases of atrocities. Needless to say, like many decisions even this decision by Rajasthan State Commission for Women faced backlash from many including activists from women’s organisations.

On Wednesday, Rajasthan State Commission for Women announced that FIRs will be filed against all those women who filled false cases of crimes committed against them. The many activist who opposed this decision claimed that this will break the spirit of women who go to the police station and lodge a complaint.

The Rajasthan State Commission for Women was set up to provide to women but will now file cases against those who lodged false cases of harassment. As per reports, the Rajasthan State Commission for Women argued that the misuse of the law will not be allowed under the pretext of women’s safety. The commission also added that it is the government that constantly faces defamation because of the increasing number of false cases. This decision makes the state the first ever to take action against women who file false cases under sections of the IPC.

In all honesty, I kind of agree with this decision. If a woman is right then her spirit to go file a complaint will not break by this decision. In fact, it will ensure that no one is wrongly accused and punished by the law.
