Pregnant Rajasthan Woman Harassed For Allegedly Being In A Porn Video Files Plea To Commit Euthanasia
What is the one thing you think of when we discuss Indian neighbourhood aunties and uncles? To me, the phrase “fokat ka panchaat” comes to mind. And while these aunties and uncles not minding their own business are problematic within themselves, it is the least of the damage that they can do. Our society can go from interfering in your life to shaming you to extent of ruin within a blink of an eye. And women usually bear this burden more than men. One pregnant woman from Rajasthan was harassed by her neighbours for allegdly being in a porn video to an extent that she asked for permission to kill herself or euthanasia.
A pregnant woman in Bharatpur who is six months along has applied for permission to be put to death. Five of the woman’s neighbours are allegedly responsible for her mental harassment and defamation. The woman claimed that she was being disparaged across the neighbourhood. The victim had contacted senior police personnel to get approval for euthanasia. The victim claims that her neighbours have claimed she is the same girl who was in a popular pornographic movie. She says that every time she leaves her house, there is an attempt to defame her and that her neighbours have tortured her in this way.

The viral pornographic film, according to the victim, is around five years old. A Punjabi singer’s son and his girlfriend can be seen in the video. She said that as she resembles the girl in the video, she is being mentally harassed and defamed by people like Mohan Singh, Amar Singh, Rajveer, and Deepchand. The victim added that the video is “too old”. In the meantime, a panchayat was organised in the village on July 21 to discuss the issue. The victim then made her way to the police station with members of her family. According to sources, the victim had also requested that ASP Chandra Prakash Sharma step in as soon as possible.
She said that she has written to the Superintendent of Police Shyam Singh, pleading with him to either take action against the accused or to allow her to end her life. She said that the girl from Punjab in the pornographic movie that her face looks like is from Punjab and someone that the son of a Punjabi musician is dating.

While the victim claims that she was not in the video, I personally don’t understand why it is anyone’s business even if she was. For a country from which the Kama Sutra originated, why are we so narrow-minded about anything related to sex or the human anatomy?
