“In My Time You Had To Be Boyfriend-free, Virgin,” Says Pooja Bedi While Talking About Alaya’s Dating Life
Although my mother and father had a love marriage, the kind that would raise a lot of eyebrows back in the day and even invite judgement, having an affair before marriage then and having one now comes with a world of a difference. And despite the fact that dating a few decades ago wasn’t half as progressive as it is now, it was always looked down upon. Especially in case of women, who were always required to be prim, proper and perfect and, on top of that, without boyfriends, recalls actress Pooja Bedi, as she spoke about her daughter, Alaya Furniturewalla’s dating life.

With Alaya F making her debut in Bollywood last year alongside actor Saif Ali Khan in Jawaani Jaaneman, she has come into quite a bit of spotlight. From her fashion to her friends, everything is being kept an eye on, and rumours have been saying that she might even be dating Aaishvary Thackeray.
Opening up about her daughter and her dating life recently, actress Pooja Bedi went on to talk about Alaya and dating in today’s day and age, in general. She said, “In my time, things were so different! You had to be boyfriend-free, a virgin, and unmarried. Today, every single human is entitled to have a personal life.”

Adding to that she said, “Kareena Kapoor Khan is doing well even after marriage. So, I would say, there’s been a sea of change in the industry and it has happened because the mentality of the audience has changed dramatically, thanks to social media.”
And even though till date, a woman experiences quite a few restrictions on herself, there is no denying that there has been monumental change from how a person had to behave then, as compared to now, where actresses are breaking all stereotypes about staying single to stay relevant in the industry.
As far as Alaya and Aaishvary are considered, the two have been spotted together in public several times and although they have been denying any rumours of being together, speculations keep surfacing every now and then.
