Model Calls Out Airlines For Banning Her Because She Wore Shorts And A Crop Top. Dress-Shaming Women Must Stop

I saw a post on Instagram that says if you have to cover up because an uncle is coming over, then maybe they shouldn’t be coming over. I mean, if a man finds it difficult to keep his mind pure with my legs in sight, then he needs to learn to zip it. Why should we keep covering up? They ask you to hide your bra strap, to wear high neck clothes, cover your legs and what not. Women are expected to cover up so the poor, innocent men don’t get dirty thoughts or the urge to act on it. This is a hideous mindset that has overstayed its welcome. Recently, bodybuilder and model Deniz Saypinar was stopped from boarding an American Airlines flight because apparently, her clothes were not decent enough.

She took to Instagram to describe her ordeal on how the airlines said she was “naked” and that her clothes “disturbed other families.” She shared a picture of her outfit – a pair of shorts and a crop top – wrote she was not naked, as the airlines called her.

Saypinar, in another post, tagged American Airlines wrote that because of them she will have to wait there until morning. She explained that she likes revealing her femininity and her clothes are definitely not offensive. Saypinar expressed that she shouldn’t have been treated so badly for wearning hot shorts. “What separates us from animals if humans can’t control even their most primitive impulses,” she pointed out. She added that she felt humiliated by the regressive incident.

Netizens offered her full support and criticised American Airlines for being so regressive and sexist. There was no need to shame her for wearing shorts and a crop top. Shaming a woman for her clothes and not letting her board a flight is pathetic. If other people are getting uncomfortable, they need to zip it. We need to stop encouraging the mindset that puts the blame on women’s clothing instead of holding perverts accountable.
