Mahua Moitra’s Explosive Tweets Against West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar Spark A Word War On Twitter. Here Is What Happened!

If there has been one song playing at the back of my head while keeping a tab on the exchange of tweets between Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra and West Bengal Governor Jagdeep Dhankhar , it has to be Nelly’s “It’s getting hot in here”. And no, not for turning the heat up in a good and steamy way, but in the kind where their words have sparked a war on Twitter that is not seeming to end.

The unfriendly row started between the two politicians after Dhankhar called the situation of post-poll violence in Bengal, an “extremely alarming law and order” scenario. He tweeted about the same on Sunday, wherein he summoned the Chief Secretary HK Dwivedi to tell him about the kind of measures that were taken to contain the violence in the state.

It was here that Trinamool Congress MP Mahua Moitra stepped in with her two cents and well, rather explosive tweets as she alleged the Governor for appointing people he is related to as officers on special duty in the Raj Bhavan. While also giving her suggestions on how he may  do better with finding a new job.

MP Mahua Moitra dropped the mic on Sunday not just by calling the Governor an ‘Uncle ji’ but also by tweeting an entire list of names she claimed were related to Dhankar. However, Governor Jagdeep Dhankar has come around to hit back in full steam, calling her claims “factually wrong” and calling them a “distraction strategy” to divert all the attention from “alarming law and order situation” in the state.

He wrote, “Assertion @MahuaMoitra in tweet & Media that six coterminous appointee OSDs in personal staff are relatives is FACTUALLY WRONG. OSDs are from three states and belong to four different castes. None of them is part of close family. Four of them are not from my caste or state.”

In another follow up tweet, Dhankar also mentioned, “This is unfolding of “distraction strategy” to divert attention from alarming law and order scenario @MamataOfficial. Would continue undeterred and with zeal to serve the people of state and vindicate my oath of office under Article 159 of the Constitution.”

MP Mahua Moitra, who still isn’t backing down on her claims, shot back with a tweet that read, “Asking Uncleji to lay out right here what antecedents of the appointees are & how each one got into Raj Bhavan. Do it NOW. BJP IT Cell can’t get you out of this one Uncleji.. And I don’t think Vice President of India also happening for you.”

Meanwhile, twitterati is chiming in on the action, not missing out on this heated argument. Here are some of the twitter reactions on this social media feud!
