Maheep Kapoor Talks About How Sanjay Kapoor Would React If Their Daughter Did A Kissing Scene
Bollywood has always had a contentious relationship with on-screen displays of affection. From two flowers mingling in a field to innuendos in songs that people are only now picking up on, over the years filmmakers have found numerous substitutes for it. Cut to today where on-screen kisses have been normalized and we thank Emraan Hashmi for that. Talking about that, recently, Maheep Kapoor talking about how her husband Sanjay Kapoor would react if their daughter Shanaya Kapoor would ever participate in an on-screen kiss in any of her future movies.
Shanaya Kapoor is all set to make her debut in Bollywood with Karan Joharโs Dharma Productions. No surprises there. In a recent interview, her mother, Maheep Kapoor talked about how Sanjay Kapoor would react if he ever watched Shanaya do a kissing scene. She said even though he would be taken aback, he wouldnโt interfere with her work. His reaction is exactly how any of our fathers would react if they were to be put in that awkward position.
Maheep Kapoor told PeepingMoon that, โInside, Sanjay will be like, ‘Oh no, what am I watching?’ but when it comes to her work, heโll keep quiet.”

Moving on, Maheep spoke about how Sanjay sometimes replies to Shanayaโs fanโs mistaking them for her. She said, โShe’s got so many of those fan mails, you know? Sanjay is confusing Shanaya with these people also. Some fan had written ‘love you, dad’, and Sanjay has messaged, ‘love you back, Shanaya’. I said, ‘but which Shanaya are you messaging?’ He was very confused. He said, ‘oh, this is not Shanaya?’ I said, ‘no’. So we weren’t expecting it, but it came, and it was overwhelming.”
People often talk about the lives of star kids but no one ever considers how tough and confusing it can be for their parents. I canโt imagine my parents reacting any differently if I had as many fan accounts as Shanaya Kapoor does.
