Love Movies With Strong Female Characters? 2020 Has A Promising Line up And We Can’t Wait

The thing about always being in the limelight is that nothing you do, or don’t do for that matter, ever escapes the all-seeing and ever-judging public eye. And for the longest time now, everyone who works in Bollywood, as an industry, has been subject to this intense scrutiny. Constantly checked, criticised and cornered for not always setting the right kind of an example for the people by minting mindless and careless content, Bollywood has often been accused of steering the public in the wrong direction. But guess, all that criticism, trolling and calling it out for not doing enough has finally paid off, as the year 2020 seems not only promising in terms of good movies being made, but also important dialogues being opened up. One of the main ones being, that women are going to be headlining the industry, and that’s a great way to start the year.

With strong female-centric scripts being finally picked up and also being liked by the audience, there has been a slow yet significant shift in the narrative here. An industry that had once been strongly dominated by the men and actors, has now opened up to the idea of not just sharing it with women, but also letting them take the lead. Phew, it took us a long time to get here.
