Kareena Kapoor Receives Backlash For Skipping A Bindi In Jewellery Ad. Yeh Trolls Haaye, Baithe Bithaye, Problems Dhikhaye
Well, as much as we envy the lavish and glamorous lives of celebrities, the dark side to it can be very daunting sometimes. Be it the outfit you’re wearing or the name you decide upon for your baby, every tiny detail about these stars is scrutinised. The latest examples of which were actors Priyanka Chopra and Akshay Kumar, wherein one was trolled for naming her daughter, and the other for being the face of a pan masala advertisement. And now adding to the list is actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.

While Kareena Kapoor Khan has always remained a known name on the internet, her recent choices have Twitter itching to troll. Yes, that’s right. Kareena Kapoor became the latest shikaar of criticism for a jewellery advertisement. Apparently, the brand shared an advertisement on the occasion of Akshaya Tritiya, with Kareena Kapoor turning its muse. Featuring Kareena Kapoor in a beautiful blush pink lehenga and heavy gold jewellery, everything seemed perfectly fine to me here. However, the internet pariwaar went ahead to feed their religious sentiments and decided to boycott the actress and the jewellery brand too. Why? Because Bebo skipped a bindi in the picture. I mean, can you imagine?
And then sharing their two bits on the advertisement to the internet’s favourite courtroom–Twitter, netizens wrote several tweets with boycott the brand, Kareena Kapoor and #NoBindiNoBusiness headlining them. Okay, now that’s too much. Stressing on the “Hindu culture” one user went on to the extent of saying, that buy gold jewellery from “shops that promote Hinduism, if you want blessings of Maa Lakshmi.” And after all this, I am not even sure bhagwaan knows what’s even happening down here. Take a look at some of these responses to the ad.

Bindi as believed by Hindus is more than just a red dot.
If brands like @Malabartweets do not try to understand or intentionally ignore it, then it is time that Hindus need to show them the door ! #Boycott_MalabarGold #No_Bindi_No_Business pic.twitter.com/wdanuIGkT1

Jago Hindu !
Their idea is to erase hinduism without any bloodshed, from the minds of those who are born hindu and also to portray India and it’s ancient heritage negatively to the western world.#Boycott_MalabarGold #No_Bindi_No_Business pic.twitter.com/PfCgC54eCP

Attacks on Hindus and their culture is predominant today!
On one hand, their festivals are termed as misogynistic, primitive
On the other, various ads trivialize Hindu customs & try to mainstream anti-Hindu fashion statements

Not just that, but many angry internet niwaasis did the takleef of digging out some old campaign images of the brand, that at times featured Kareena Kapoor Khan without a maang tika. I mean guys, it’s time to progress, and by that I mean not backwards. While the internet is a boon for many, its chances of being a bane totally freak me out, and this advertisement explains how a million faceless tweets, reflect the society we’re breathing within.
