5 Men In Jharkhand Gang-Rape Minor Girl In Front Of Her Mother. And Here We Are Celebrating Girl Child Day!
I wonder if there will ever come a day when we will not wake up to the news of a woman or a minor being raped. It is too much to ask for? No day ever goes by when we do not read this disturbing piece of news. Even while taking a cursory glance at the headlines in the newspaper in the morning, you will read news about a woman or a girl being sexually violated and it is gut-wrenching to even imagine the mental state of the victim. Rape is a heinous crime already, and the perpetrators keep making it worse with each crime. In a recently committed crime in Jharkhand, five men gang-raped a minor in front of her mother. Yes, you read that right.
As per reports, the incident took place on October 11, 2022, in the Dumka district of Jharkhand. Both the girl and her mother were coming back home after attending a function held in Deoghar when the five men attacked them. As narrated by the mother to the police, two of these five men came on a motorbike and attacked her and he daughter. They took her daughter to the side forcefully.
When the woman tried to protest and save her daughter, the criminals beat her up and then raped her minor daughter in front of her. The woman filed a complaint with the Deoghar Police on the same day. Two men have already been identified as the accused and detained by the police, while a search for the other three is on. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) has been appointed to investigate and get to the bottom of the matter.

It is beyond comprehension what the mother must be going through right now. The trauma of it all for the mother and the minor is something they will have to live with for the rest of their lives. We are hoping that the police will catch the other three rapists and the strictest punishment is given to them.
