I can really relate to Geet from Jab We Met; I can hear myself say, “Bachpan se hi na, mujhe shaadi karne ka bada shauk hai… By God!” By the age of 16, I had already thought of the kind of wedding I wanted, the kind of outfit I’d wear and all that. A few years later I had finalised two out of three songs for our first dance at the wedding. Add to it a couple more years, and I wished that the groom would look at me with the most achingly beautiful gaze, as I would be walking down the aisle. You know, the look that says, ‘Ah, there she is, my soulmate and how lucky I am to have her.’ Okay, so yes, my fantasies have been borderline narcissistic but didn’t I say I can relate to Geet?
There are several movies I watched that made this fantasy of mine stronger. But today, I came across a video of a real life couple and it’s the best wedding scene ever. In the video that went viral, the groom can be seen with so much love in his eyes, as he watches his bride walk towards him. He gets so filled with emotion that tears begin rolling down his cheeks. Ah, give me one man like that. One man, who can show his emotions, his vulnerability. This is so attractive.

The bride reaches the groom and is feeling emotional too. She wipes off his tears and hugs him. And watching this, several PMSing women are crying while digging into a tub of ice-cream. Okay, at least I am.

This video is so beautiful. I hope they fall deeper in love and maintain that spark for the rest of their lives. And I hope the person I marry looks at me like that. It may not happen but a girl can dream!
