Daughter Tweets Pics of Her Mother Getting Remarried After Coming Out Of Toxic Relationship. It’s So Heartwarming
I know that most of us would like to believe that the India we’re living in is far more progressive and open-minded. Now, I’m not saying that we haven’t progressed at all, we have, but there is no denying that there are still a lot of ideas that need to be accepted and normalised. Two of the many ideas are divorce and remarriage. There is no denying that divorce and remarriage -especially of a woman – are seen as taboo. I mean, moving on from a toxic relationship with kids in itself is a courageous step and then deciding to get married again is even more courageous, in my opinion. And there are very few people who have this courage and amidst all the judgement from society choose their happiness. Two such people who are breaking these walls are a daughter who recently took to her Twitter to share pics of her mother getting remarried after getting out of a toxic relationship. And trust me, the whole thread is so heartwarming!
A Twitter user, @alphaw1fe, tweeted a series of tweets with pictures of her mother getting remarried and they are so beautiful! In the series of tweets, the daughter shared pictures of her mehendi ceremony, engagement ceremony, and now her wedding ceremony.

In another tweet, the daughter wrote about how there was a time where she and her 16-year-old brother were against the idea of having another man in their family but now they’re more than happy to welcome a new father figure in her life.

While talking about her mother’s past, the daughter revealed that her mother was 17-years-old when she was forcefully married off to a man that took no responsibility. The daughter revealed that he would not bother paying her and her brother’s school fees and that teachers would be over them for the same. It was when she was two that the man left her mother and them and it was a bad time for them. But she also says that she likes talking about this part of her childhood since it has made her very strong.

Needless to say, those who came across the tweets poured in their well-wishes and also expressed their wishes of normalising divorce and remarriage. Twitterati also went ahead and applauded the daughter and the mother for pushing through the judgements and living a life of their own.
Congratulations… As a toxic marriage survivor myself, this makes me so happy. Bless you all!

Let us normalize widow/divorced women marrying again. Every lady mustn't be stopped from living their dreams. You're never late to do what makes you happy. Alhamdulillah for your mother. 💖

Being a child of a single mother, I know how much it would have meant for the daughter to see her mother living for herself. Even though my mom didn’t go through a divorce, she did lose her partner and I remember my brother and me asking her if she wanted to get remarried. But she refused and said that she now wants to live her life by herself and for herself. And honestly, all mothers who are either divorced, widowed, or single parents, should live life for themselves as well.
