CWG 2022: Sushila Devi Likmabam Secures A Silver Medal In Women’s Judo 49 Kgs Event, Will Compete For Gold!
It is always a moment of pride to see Indian athletes and players shine on International grounds. Especially, in the Commonwealth games that are currently taking place in Birmingham, our Indian women have been performing really well. Today was the fourth day of this prestigious sports event in which athletes and players from various countries across the globe participate. And we have got good news again! Sushila Devi Likmabam has secured a silver medal for herself in the Women’s 49 Kgs event. She is all set to fight for the gold!

As per the latest reports on the news, on Monday, Sushila Devi Likmabam made her way to the final round of the women’s judo 49 kgs category and has finalised a silver for the country. In the finals, our Indian judoka will be competing against South Africa’s Michaela Whitebooi.
Sushila Devi hails from Imphal and has been achieving heights since she started a career in Judo. She was born in 1995 and from a very tender age, she started her practice in judo. She has participated in various events ranging from regional to now an international one like the Commonwealth games. Sushila Devi Likmabam has received her training from Sabitri Chanu of the Sports Authority Of India and also from Khuman Lampak from the Special Areas Games, as per a report.

The women athletes from India have been shining in the Commonwealth Games 2022. We recently witnessed the glorious victory of Mirabai Chanu who made us all proud by bringing home gold, and the country hailed this joyous moment.
