PM Narendra Modi Cheers Up Pooja Gehlot Who Got Emotional For Not Bagging Gold At CWG, Says “Your Life Journey Motivates Us”

The Commonwealth Games 2022 have been a great event so far with the Indian contingent winning medals for the country left, right and centre! Winning a medal for the nation is a matter of pride in itself. Just representing our country on an international scale and winning must definitely feel great. But Pooja Gehlot, the medal winner in the women’s freestyle wrestling category, got emotional as she could only win the bronze. In a post-match interview, Pooja had tears in her eyes while speaking to the journalists as she felt she had not done enough to win the gold medal. But Prime Minister Narendra Modi wrote a motivational message for her on Twitter and wrote that it is a time for celebration and not to apologise.

In the video shared by ANI, Pooja is seen getting emotional for not winning the gold medal. She says she is sad about it and had wished that she could win the good and make the Indian national anthem play. Pooja also said that she apologises to the Indian citizens for ‘losing’. Further ahead, she said that she will work on the mistakes that she made in her game.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted the video and wrote that her models call for celebrations and not an apology. His tweet read, “Pooja, your medal calls for celebrations, not an apology. Your life journey motivates us, your success gladdens us. You are destined for great things ahead…keep shining!”
