The Commonwealth Games 2022 are on and how well all the athletes have performed at the event! The Indian contingent has won many medals at the CWG 2022 and even broke several records. The female athletes from India have been bringing us immense glory by winning medals in many sporting events, a couple of which being our first-ever medals in the sport! This is a matter of pride for all of us. The 10th day of the CWG 2022 games was no different for India as our female players did splendidly well on August 7 as well. Hence, here is a round-up of all the female players and the medals they won in their respective sports!

Women’s Hockey Won Medal At CWG After 16 years

India won the bronze medal in hockey after they beat New Zealand in a 2-1 shootout. This win of India comes after 16 years at Commonwealth Games. In a video shared by a journalist on their social media, the hockey team was seen celebrating in the dressing home after their glorious win!

Women’s Cricket Confirms Silver

The women’s Indian cricket team has confirmed a silver medal. They will play against Australia in the final match for a gold medal.

Nitu Ghanghas Won Gold In Boxing

Boxer Nitu Ghanghas won the first gold medal for India at the Commonwealth Games 2022. She beat her English opponent Demie-Jade of England in the 48 kgs weight category.

PV Sindhu Confirmed Silver

PV Sindhu has entered the badminton finals after defeating Singapore’s Jia Min Yeo. She will fight for the gold but has confirmed the silver medal.

Annu Rani won the first-ever bronze medal for India at the javelin throw event. She threw the javelin at a distance of 60m.

India’s Nikhat Zareen has confirmed a gold medal in boxing. She will fight for the gold medal against Carly Mc Naul from Northern Ireland in the 48-50 kgs category.

Vinesh Phogat Won Gold In Wrestling

Vinesh Phogat won the gold medal in wrestling in the women’s freestyle wrestling 53 kgs category.
