Anushka Sharma Takes To Instagram To Thank Paparazzi And Fans For Not Sharing Vamika’s Photos

I always joke around saying that I would be a very bad celebrity because of how private and secretive I can be. And this isn’t just me talking but also my mother keeps accusing me of hiding stuff from her. Now, I don’t always have something to hide, I just dislike letting people in on my personal life or things that aren’t their business. Hence I totally understand and respect celebrities who try to do everything they can to preserve their privacy. I also have a lot of respect for celebs who keep their child away from the public eye. Considering how harmful social media and unnecessary popularity is to adults, the effects this can have on children is detrimental. That’s why when I heard that Anushka Sharma and Virat Kohli have decided to keep their daughter Vamika’s identity private I was very impressed. However, recently, Anushka Sharma took to Instagram to thank the people that did not post her daughter’s pic and requested everyone to respect her privacy.

On Friday, Virat Kohli along with his team and their respective partners were seen all ready to take a flight to South Africa where they will be playing a match against the hosts. As soon as he got off the bus, Virat Kohli walked towards the paparazzi and asked them to not take Vamika’s pictures, which they agreed to, according to reports

Anushka Sharma later posted an Instagram story thanking those that were mature enough to respect Virat’s and her wishes and did not share Vamika’s photos. She also posted a request to those that didn’t. The post read, “We are deeply thankful to the Indian paparazzi and most of the media fraternity for not publishing pictures/videos of Vamika. As parents, our request to the few who carried the images/video will be to support us going forward,” she added, “We seek privacy for our child and would like to do our best to give her a chance to live her life freely away from media and social media. As she is older, we cannot restrict her movement and hence your support is needed so kindly practice (retrain) in the matter. A special thank you to fan clubs and people of the internet for going out of your way to not post images. It was kind and highly mature of you.”

Anushka Sharma is right. Everyone reserves the right to privacy but we somehow hold celebrities to a different standard. If the parents of a minor do not want to publicise their child and want to maintain the child’s privacy, the sensible thing to do is to respect their wishes and not look for loopholes to violate them.
