R. Madhavan Opens Up About His Failed Romantic Endeavours With Wife In Public, Getting Caught By Police!

I believe that one of the most common issues that young couples of India face is the lack of privacy and places for them to get intimate. Literally, every Indian city has date spots where couples go to just for some semblance of privacy. The reality is that there is no real privacy at these very public places; just people trying to ignore the couples making out in nooks and crannies, behind rocks, trees and bushes. While I have had a few chuckles at the expense of their desperation multiple times, as a youngin, I get where they come from and do feel sorry for them. However, I think that stuff like this is what makes great memories in the future that we tend to laugh at. I remember how my friends and I tend to laugh about stuff we used to find worrisome when we were younger and I am certain that the cycle will repeat itself when I get older. R. Madhavan seems to agree with me as he got candid about his relationship with his wife and how their young romance blossomed.

In an interview recently, R. Madhavan opened up about his courting days with his wife, Sarita and having trouble getting cosy on Bandstand in Mumbai. He recalled his days at Bandstand, Bandra “When I was wooing Sarita, we seldom had a place to get intimate. So, these rocks have many stories to tell.” As someone that has visited Bandstand (for the sea, I promise), I know for sure that the rocks there have a lot of stories to tell for a lot of couples. He continued, “We started out like any other couple in Mumbai, on top of the double-decker buses, coochie-cooing by the rocks, having a policeman say ‘go home’ and all that. We have really fond memories of this place.”

R. Madhavan and Sarita Birje got married in 1999 after 8 years of dating. They have a son named Vedant. R. Madhavan’s is all set to be seen in the series, Decoupled alongside Surveen Chawla December 17, which I am very excited for!

I have always enjoyed R. Madhavan, not only as an actor but as a personality too. His interviews show how humble, intelligent and funny he is. I love how relatable he continues to be regardless of how long he has been in Bollywood and his drama-free stardom is so refreshing to witness!
