Deceased Al Qaeda Chief Ayman al-Zawahiri’s Old Video Shows Him Wading Into Karnataka Hijab Row

On Sunday, the United States of America carried out a strike on Kabul. The strike that was ordered on a residence in Kabul killed the Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri. His death created quite a buzz around the world. And this is not the first time he has grabbed the news. Previously, his comments on a lot of issues made him a trend in the media. Just take the instance of the time when he commented on the Karnataka hijab row. Yep, in April, a video of the Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri was released where he is seen praising a college girl from Karnataka who was objecting to the hijab ban.

Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri in a nine-minute video titled ‘The Noble Woman of India’ praised Muskan Khan, a college student from Karnataka, who took on a group of students that objected to her wearing a hijab. Commenting on the hijab row, the chief countered the “Jai Shri Ram” slogans of people by shouting “Allahu Akbar”.

The video that was released by Qaeda’s official Shabab media and verified by the SITE intelligence group, saw a poster that read “The Noble Woman of India”. In the video, Al Qaeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri was seen reciting a poem he had written to praise Muskan Khan.

Al Qaeda chief further added that he came to know about her from videos and social media. The jihadi veteran said that he was moved by her act in the Karnataka hijab row and it is that very reason why he wrote a poem in her praise. 

After reading out his poem, the Al Qeda chief Ayman al-Zawahiri went on to attack countries that banned hijab – he even included Pakistan and Bangladesh who he alleged were allies of the West.
