Taliban Puts Restrictions On Women’s Entry Inside Amusement Parks. The Level Of Uncertainty Afghan Women Face Is Deplorable!

Every other day, it has become mandatory for the Taliban regime to restrict at least one basic right of Afghan women. Their rights like education and driving have already been taken away since the Taliban took over the administration. The freedom to leave their houses alone is also not an option for them. And now, under a new Taliban rule, women cannot even enjoy being in an amusement park. Yes, you read that right, now they are not even “allowed” to entertain themselves with the joys of an amusement park.

Afghanistan’s morality minister made an announcement on Wednesday regarding women’s restricted access to amusement parks. There have since been reports of women being stopped outside the gates of these parks and being turned away. According to Reuters, the Afghan Ministry for the Propagation of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice confirmed the decision, but no further clarifications have been made.

In the presence of the Taliban officials, many women with children were also stopped at the park gates and asked to go back, as per the report. The women have yet again shown concern about the absolute deprivation of living a happy life in Afghanistan. The Taliban regime has set all these rules in place in accordance with Islamic law.

This is heartbreaking. How many more normal human activities will women in Afghanistan be barred from doing? Is this how men in positions of power want to show their control over them? What kind of laws are they upholding by denying them every opportunity to live a normal, happy, and content life? Every day, Afghan women learn something new that they are unable to do, and in such a helpless situation, even after consistent efforts by other powerful nations, no concrete assistance reaches them. The uncertainty with which they are living their lives, with no idea what the next thing they might not be allowed to do, is heartbreaking to contemplate.
