A Bride Is Frustrated That Her Sister-In-Law Copies Everything She Does. Including Wanting The Same Wedding Dress

There are lots of us who would like to be trendsetters in today’s world or be viewed in a way where people don’t just look up to them but also get motivated by them but there is a thin line that separates inspiration from plagiarism. A line that was recently crossed by a woman when she tried to copy everything down to the T from her own cousin sister’s wedding. Spoiler alert? The sister wasn’t happy at all…

A woman recently vented her frustration out on Reddit as she spoke about how her fiancé’s sister got under her nerves by wanting to copy everything she is doing, despite already being married. A common case of thunder being stolen on a bride’s most important day.

The bride, in her rant, went on to explain just how “jealous” her  future sister-in-law has been of her right from the beginning. From wanting everything that she had to having it the way she had gotten, the sister-in-law wasn’t letting anything from cloning her wedding ring to dress to even the wedding band, slide!

She wrote, “For some background context, a few years ago when my fiancé proposed to me, [SIL] got jealous of my ring and wanted to order the exact same one and replace her own engagement ring. Mind you, she’s married with four kids and she’s more than 10 years older than me and my fiancé (aka her brother).”

She also went on to share, “She was insisting on getting her ring replaced and I found it very weird so did my fiancé and he tried to tell her multiple times to cut it off. Few months later she ended up getting her ring replaced and her fiancé got the same one as mine.” Adding to this she said, “Now with my wedding, she saw my wedding dress and insists on getting the same dress as my wedding dress just in a different colour.”

Then she recalled the time when her sister-in-law went and got even the same wedding band as theirs. She said, “She also found wedding bands like the ones we got and she got them too as a simple ring for herself. When she made the convo about the wedding dress I told her I’m not comfortable with that and I could help her find a really nice dress if she wanted. She got mad and started screaming at me that I’m not letting her shine and I’m scared that she’ll overshadow me. I told her that my wedding is not about her and she needs to get over herself.”

At this point, we could relate to just how exasperated she’d have been, seeing how her sister-in-law kept stepping on her toes and taking away the essence of everything that had to be special for the happy couple. However, when the bride tried to convey the emotion to her future sister in law, she got a call from the MIL saying she was, “creating issues in the family”.

Although her father-in-law stepped in to ask the sister and mother to back off, for their demands were unreasonable, the rest of the family still didn’t see anything odd in her behaviour. And since it is said you don’t marry the person, you marry the family, watch what you marry into!
