A Boy From Bihar Had His Genitals Chopped Off, And Was Then Murdered By His Girlfriend’s Family
At 17, I was dating someone my parents did not approve of. It wasn’t that they didn’t like me dating, they just didn’t like the person I was with. They called him a bad influence and I realised towards the end of our relationship that they were right. But that’s what we’re talking about. I know a lot of people whose parents don’t like them dating in the first place. It often leads to major fights and broken curfews. But the incident we are discussing today is probably one of the most violent ones. You see a teenager in Bihar was murdered by his girlfriend’s family. They were so angry about the affair that they chopped off his genitals.
In Bihar’s Muzaffarpur district, a 17-year-old boy was killed by his girlfriend’s family. Angered by the affair, they cut off his genitals. In retaliation, the boy’s family performed his last rites just outside the accused’s home.

The incident took place in Repura Rampurshah village of Bihar on Friday night. The victim, Saurabh Kumar, was found in his girlfriend’s house. Irked and shocked by this, the girl’s family brutally beat him, causing serious injuries. He was immediately rushed to the hospital where he succumbed to his injuries. Rajesh Kumar, Superintendent of Police, Muzaffarpur told the media, “Prima facie shows that the boy was killed over an alleged love affair. He was beaten and his genitals were cut off. A postmortem is being done and further details about the injuries will be revealed after the report comes.”
After Saurabh’s death, his family attacked the accused’s home and also performed his last rites in front of it. An FIR has been filed and the main accused, Sushant Pandey alias Vijay Kumar, has been arrested. Three more people have also been arrested for attacking the accused’s home.
Will people ever realise that there is a healthier way of dealing with situations like this one? Violence and murder don’t solve anything but then, Bihar is notoriously for bending the rules.
