With 2021 coming to an end and how unpredictable these 2 years have been, I feel that we can all use some preparation in terms of what to expect from 2022. One way to do this is to read the zodiac predictions section of every magazine and newspaper to see what MIGHT happen in your life. However, I enjoy engaging in conspiracy theories for no good reason other than to feed by trust issues. While I do not wear tin-foil hats and believe that the earth is flat (yes, I have an open mind but we need to draw the line somewhere). And talking about predictions, how can we forget our very own French plague doctor and astrologer Michel de Nostredame aka Nostradamus and his predictions. He is popular because of his work Les Propheties and its first edition was seen in 1555. It has only continued to get more popular and has gained a cult following who take Nostradamus and his predictions very seriously. 

For the heck of preparedness, let us take a look at the 5 mind-boggling Nostradamus predictions I found for the year 2022,

1. World Starvation And Inflation

Okay, folks, let’s talk about the bad news first (who am I kidding? it’s all bad news). According to people that interpret Nostradamus, the world will face major inflation and starvation in the coming year. He has written, “No abbots, monks, no novices to learn; Honey shall cost far more than candle-wax So high the price of wheat, That man is stirred. His fellow man to eat in his despair”

Nostradamus predicted that the world will face hunger due to very high prices and inflation. He said that people have major conflicts as they will have to fight over natural resources which are lacking due to climate change. 

2. AI Will Become Our Main Man

 “The Moon in the full of night over the high mountain. The new sage with a lone brain sees it. By his disciples invited to be immortal. Eyes to the south. Hands in bosoms, bodies in the fire,” Nostradamus wrote which is interpreted to be an allusion to AIs taking over. And with the way Elon Musk is going, I don’t think Nostradamus was wrong.

3. Crypto, Baby!

Along with inflation, Nostradamus apparently predicted the rise of Cryptocurrency, “The copies of gold and silver inflated. Which after the theft were thrown into the lake. At the discovery that all is exhausted and dissipated by the debt. All scripts and bonds will be wiped out.” Nostradamus’ words have been interpreted and they could be true considering that the price of gold is currently hiking and many silicon valley engineers are leaving their jobs to join Crypto startups!

4. Earthquake In Asia 

Nostradamus wrote, “Towards midy extreme siccity. In the depths of Asia they will say earthquake.” Which has been interpreted as there is a prediction of there being an earthquake in Japan. And considering how Japan does tend to be prone to earthquakes, this is concerning me now.

5. Invasion Of France

While France’s invasion is spoken about pretty frequently throughout Nostradamus’ predictions, his words have been interpreted to come true around the Springtime of 2022, according to reports. He has written “Blue-head shall white-head harm in such degree. As France’s good to both shall e’er amount.”

So here are 5 of the most unbelievable predictions by Nostradamus for the coming year. By the looks of it, either the entire dynamic of the world is about to be altered or the apocalypse is here. However, considering how the world clearly did not end in 2012, I have my reservations. But then again, with how crazy the past two years have been, I feel like anything is possible. So, we have no choice but to head into the new year and see if our man Nostradamus was right or not.
