Blake Lively And Ryan Reynolds Will Turn Hosts At This Year’s Met Gala. Here’s Who Else Is Joining Them
The Met Gala is returning for another glorious round this year and we’ve got our hands on some exciting details. Yes, that’s right! During the first week of May this year, the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York will again turn host and welcome celebrities for the annual event. Celebrating the Costume Institute’s exhibition on American fashion, the theme of the year has been announced and it is titled–In America: An Anthology of Fashion. An extended version of its previous September round titled–In America: A Lexicon of Fashion, the exhibition will feature an interesting roaster of designers, catering to diversity and a mix of contemporary and cultural roots.

Talking about the hosts of the special evening, celebrities like Blake Lively, Ryan Reynolds, Regina King, and Lin-Manuel Miranda have been roped in as the event’s official co-chairs.

While America’s fashionably rich designs will be put on display, the new exhibitions this year will travel back in time and revisit the roots of American fashion. The two-part exhibition will witness a stunning display of 100 garments by independent designers from the 1800’s up until the 1900s. Showcasing the periodic style, every room will feature “freeze frames” to speak about the distinct aesthetics of film directors like– Chloé Zhao, Julie Dash, Tom Ford, Regina King, Martin Scorsese, Autumn de Wilde, Janicza Bravo and Sofia Coppola.
