Thanks To These 10 Celeb Brides, Custom Kaliras And Chooda Are The Next Big Bridal Trend

Every year, we witness a new wave of bridal trends, as a celebrity bride decides to tie the knot. From Katrina Kaif to the newly-wed Kiara Advani, celebrity brides have been dishing out some stand-out unique ensembles through their custom-made lehengas. Besides picking the photographers to striking a similar pose, these brides and their love for personalised kaliras and uniquely coloured choodas (bridal bangles) is a common aspect. From Kaif being the classic Punjabi bride in a stack of red bangles, with swan-motifs in kaliras to actress Kiara Advani, paying homage to husband–Sidharth’s late dog–Oscar and picking a pink chooda, every bride personalised a beloved arm candy for themselves to mark the special day.

From curating Priyanka’s long gold kaliras to designing Varun’s bride–Natasha Dalal’s stardust kaliras, Chandra is a household name in a category, that was earlier the quickest bridal purchase from Delhi’s beloved Chandni Chowk. Making these detailed additions to the bridal look, kalira and chooda designs are Chandra’s way of enveloping emotions into motifs. From celebrating the love story to being a messenger, bespoke kaliras by Chandra are a must addition to every bridal look. So, if you’re planning to put that extra effort into your bridal kaliras and opt for an unusual shade of chooda, allow these Bollywood brides to help you out.

1. Kiara Advani Ivory Blush

The newlywed bride–Kiara Advani was drenched in emeralds and striking ivory jewellery with details added using diamonds. On Advani, we saw a unique pair of kaliras that paid tribute to Sidharth’s late pet–Oscar, their love for Rome and their initials. Alongside that, Advani picked an arrangement of stars and butterflies to create her feather-light kaliras and compliment her unconventional chooda. Unlike most celebrity brides, Advani was a Sindhi dulhan in a custom-made, dual-tone, pink chooda design that matched her Manish Malhotra lehenga in empress rose.

3. Alia Bhatt’s Starry Love

Alia Bhatt was a head-to-toe Sabyasachi bride in an ivory saree. A dream for minimalists, Bhatt’s wedding look was unconventional right from her open hair to her simple henna. For her Punjabi chooda and kaliras, the actress also trusted Mrinalini Chandra and curated a story of stars and clouds. A special mention was given to husband–Ranbir Kapoor’s obsession with the number 8 and the infinity sign. 8. Natasha Dalal’s Starry Choice

For her wedding to actor–Varun Dhawan, designer Natasha Dalal was a head-to-toe white bride. Dalal exchanged the usual vermillion red worn by most brides for a sparkling white and silver lehenga. A part of her ensemble were diamonds, that matched her choice of kaliras and white chooda. The unconventional shade of both the charms and bridal bangles was a head-turning choice made by her. For modern brides, the stardust kaliras is a compatible selection for your non-gold lehengas. The design resonated with the striking glimmer of the galaxy and featured two tomb layers. The white chooda is also a perfect match for brides who are opting for sorbet-hued bridal lehengas for their special day.
