From Sidharth’s Pet Oscar To Their Love For Rome, Kiara Advani’s Kaliras Had All Their Fav Gallan In Them!

The ongoing trend of pocketing personalised details in your wedding look is something that many celebrity brides have been opting for. As displayed by brides including Katrina Kaif, Alia Bhatt and the newlyweds Athiya Shetty and Kiara Advani, traditional kaliras have become the most important element in their wedding ensemble. Opted by Kiara Advani as well, the actress tied the knot with actor–Sidharth Malhotra, last evening in presence of close family and friends.

Unlike most Bollywood celebrity brides, Kiara skipped on the classic vermillion red and chose the sorbet-hued pink lehenga by ace designer–Manish Malhotra. The ethereal, diamond-led ensemble on Advani, was adorned with detailed embroidery, replicating the architecture of Rome, that shares a close-knit bond with the couple. Besides her striking, emerald jewellery by the designer himself, Advani added a more detailed accessory to the look, with a pair of custom-made kaliras. For this task, the Shershaah actress trusted the popular–Mrinalini Chandra, who weaved the bespoke design for her.

Sharing the story behind the ivory kaliras, Chandra took to her Instagram handle and shared, “It’s our signature love story kaliras.” The detailed kaliras paid homage to the union of the two actors, with their initials, drenched in a string of stars, moon and butterflies. Similar to her lehenga, her kaliras also featured the couple’s love for their favourite travel destination–Rome, a caricature design of groom Sidharth’s pet dog–Oscar and a tiny enveloped message that aligned with the starry strings.

Besides the lustrous ivory kaliras, Chandra also designed the actress’ custom-made, two-toned chooda that featured a mix of blush and baby pink bridal bangles. For the special occasion, the actress displayed her love for details through the embroidery on her lehenga to the bespoke kaliras.

The couple tied the knot on February 7, 2023. In attendance were family, friends, and celebrities from Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Shahid Kapoor to Mira Rajput.
