While I do believe that we have gotten quite a few gems from Hindi cinema, sometimes the repetitiveness can get stale. So imagine my excitement when I heard the announcement of an upcoming 2022 movie Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? The movie is written and directed by Arshad Syed and produced by a collaboration between Junglee Pictures and Roy Kapur Films. Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? stars Taapsee Pannu and Pratik Gandhi as the leads. And we have a first look!

Junglee Pictures and Roy Kapur Films have made many innovative and unique movies that are concept-driven and innovative. Their stories appeal to audiences and critics equally. Luckily for us Bollywood fanatics, these two studios are collaborating to produce a dramatic comedy with a very new pair as leads. The story has been written by Arshad Syed and the movie Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? brings Taapsee Pannu and Pratik Gandhi together for the very first time! Are you excited because I am!
Taapsee Pannu is no noob in Bollywood and has been praised for her brilliant performances in previous roles. However, this is the first time we will see her in a comedy as a feisty cop. Pratik Gandhi who has won awards and a lot of respect for his role in Scam 1992 will be seen playing the newly-married heir to ‘Masala’ influential business family. The current avatars of both actors have been shared from their shooting location in Jaipur.

Taapsee Pannu shares her thoughts on her first role as a cop and her new avatar on the upcoming Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? As she says, “Playing a policewoman and doing a comedy film has always been on my checklist and I am happy that it is finally ticked off. I had seen Pratik’s work and I think he is a very talented actor and I am absolutely enjoying working with him. Arshad has written an amazing script with great comic quirks and also a lot of heart, which I am looking forward to. I am happy that Junglee Pictures and Roy Kapur Films have collaborated to produce this film. It’s going to be a fun ride!” Pratik Gandhi too showed his excitement for the role as he wanted to highlight all the uniqueness his character has to offer. He beamed, “My character in Woh Ladki Hai Kahaan? is very different from anything I have ever done before, and that is very exciting. Taapsee is super talented and I am so thrilled to be working with her. Arshad has a great vision and he has written the story with so much nuance! I am sure the audiences will love it.”
